What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique lasting 6-12 months.
It’s a delicate process of hand drawing tiny tattoo strokes, with a manual handpiece and small
sloped needles. The needles implant pigment into the bottom layer of the epidermis and this
creates a shadow at the follicle, to mimic the natural hair within the eyebrow.
Eyebrow microblading is also known as feathered brows, embroidered brows, or HD brows.

What can I expect from eyebrow microblading ?
If you have sparse, uneven brows or you prefer low maintenance, microblading leaves you
looking polished and feeling confident in your own skin.
Some benefits include:
- Full and balanced eyebrows
- Sweat and waterproof
- Camouflage sparse areas
- Hide scars
- Semi-permanent , which allows you to change brow shape and style as you age and
beauty trends change.

The day of your appointment

Consultation & Brow Design (30mins)

Please bring any reference photos that emulate the brow style you’re interested in. As an artist, I work with you to design and shape and style of the brow that will best highlight and enhance.your natural face shape and features. Then we choose a pigment best suited for your skin tone.and hair colour.

Numbing (30mins)
I want you to be as comfortable as possible! A topical anesthetic with 5% lidocaine is applied to
the brow area and will be re-applied during the tattooing.

Tattooing (60mins)
Carefully creating small strokes of pigment that mimic the appearance of natural brow hair within
the design shape.

Post Appointment & Healing
The full healing process takes 6-8 weeks. However, The top visible layers of your skin will heal
after two weeks. Your brows will experience a few normal side effects (slight itchiness, redness
and peeling). Expect your tattoo to appear darker for the first 3-5 days. After day 4, light peeling
will occur, revealing light and soft hair strokes. Long term aftercare is crucial for the longevity of
your eyebrow investment. (more info available in before and aftercare PDF).

What will my healed brows look like?
Your results may vary depending on skin type, lifestyle and the immediate and long-term
aftercare of your new tattoo. Once fully healed (after 6 weeks), the colour will reduce by 30-50%.
Patchiness and lightness can be corrected during the second session.

Will I need a touch up after my first appointment?
The majority of my clients require 2 sessions to have their brows perfected. Touch up
appointments can be made 2-3 months after your first visit. Clients with fuller brows may not
need additional touch ups; however, clients with oily skin, little to no natural brow hair or have a
previous tattoo that’s been corrected, may need more than 2 sessions.

How long will my healed brows last?
Your microblading will last 6-12 months depending on lifestyle, skin type and sun exposure. Oily skin
types tend to fade quicker than normal to dry skin types.

Will natural brow hair be removed during the service?
Following your natural brow line, I try to incorporate as much of the natural hair as possible.
strays that lay outside the brow design will be removed.

Will cosmetic tattoo work well for me?
-If you have extremely oily skin, microblading is NOT ideal for you. The constant production of oil
cause the hair strokes to heal soft and diffused with an end result looking more powdery than
defined.
-If you have little to no brow hair, the tattoo appears more two dimensional than brows with
more natural hair.
-your pigment can fade sooner if you are a frequent smoker
-If you are iron deficient or anemic your tattoo may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur
post appointment.

PLEASE NOTE: If your eyebrows have been previously tattooed, your results cannot be
guaranteed. In some cases where the previous work is too dark, too large, discoloured or too
dense, tattoo removal will be highly recommended before my services should be considered.
Previously tattooed areas will almost always require additional sessions and will be charged
accordingly. Some special cases may be considered.

How will my cosmetic tattoo look in the future?

During your appointment, we will analyze your skin’s undertone to anticipate how pigment
colours will fade in the future. Pigments are mixed to ensure the colour blends properly with your
skin tone, skin undertone and eyebrow hair.
The majority of my clients’ tattoos stay true to colour and lighten naturally over time.
However, in some cases colours may fade to different tones according to the individuals
response to the pigments.
Many factors affect these changes, such as lifestyle and iron deficiency. At your follow up
appointment, your brows will be re-evaluated. We will see how your body has responded to the
initial colour. Special formula alteration to correct the colour and to prevent further change is
made at this time. Your eyebrow tattoo will eventually look softer and have more of a powdered
look. This happens with all clients as the skin ages. To keep your hair strokes looking fresh, a
touch up appointment is suggested every 1- 2 years. Results vary with each client.

Is the equipment and studio clean and safe?

Absolutely! I pride myself on having an immaculate and sterile environment at my personal
studio. I am Blood Borne Pathogens certified and only practice with single use, disposable
needles and supplies. This means each set up is fully and safely disposed after each client. The
area is thoroughly disinfected after each appointment.
